Objectives:

Drive to Trinity Lake and visit a hydrothermal pipe, then drive to Foxy Lake and fly the UAV over the area.

Lessons Learned:

Locations on geological maps aren’t necessarily accurate. For example, the hydrothermal pipes visited today using waypoints taken in 2005 and 2007 were a few hundred meters off. The direction of the discrepancy of the old waypoints and actual location of the features varies, which tends to rule out a datum or unit conversion explanation.

Also, don’t fly the UAV too close to hills!
